These foods you should always eat
Men and women’s needs are completely different. I’m not talking only about the emotional and physical level here (men are from Mars, women are from Venus remember? ;-)), but also in exercise programs and in nutrition intake.
For both boys and girls a diet rich in fibre, fruits and veggies, lean proteins and healthy fatty acids is a must. And we also know that exercise on a regular base contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Let me go a little deeper into what is good food for girls.
Wild Salmon
Wild Salmon is your dish! But it must be wild salmon and not the farmed-raised salmon! Wild salmon is full of omega-3s, essential fats, Vitamin D, B12 and B6 and magnesium. It lowers blood pressure, cholesterol levels, absorb calcium, promotes bone growth and may even shown to promote weight loss. Besides all these assets, studies finds that the oils in Salmon can help pregnant woman beat the postpartum blues, particularly when taking during the third trimester. Interesting huh?!
Onions and Walnuts
I like to name two power foods here because one of the biggest health concerns for women as they get older is osteoporosis (weakening of your bones). Onions and walnuts, however, have been shown to stop the process of bone resorption and preventing excessive bone turnover which keeps bones strong and healthy. Onions also are a great source of Vitamin C, fibre, folate, and potassium and a new study showed that a handful of walnuts per day help delay development of breast cancer, slow tumor growth in mice and is great to keep the brains healthy. And last but not least, walnuts are the only nut that contains Omega-3s!
Beans it is!
Beans are a great source of protein, folate, magnesium, high in antioxidants and super rich in fiber! Beans are very attractive to women with weight-loss as goal because beans make you feel full and are digested slowly, keeping you longer satisfied. Beans improve your digestive system (slow absorption of nutrients) and contains an amino acid which, is a powerful mood-enhancing neurotransmitter and therefore could improve your mood and even improve your ability to sleep. Beans are a great substitute for meat, potatoes, rice and pasta and are low in sugar.
Improve your nutrition
Ladies, in order to improve your overall health, now and when you turn older, you need to include a proper nutrition plan and an exercise program to your daily life. To improve heart and overall health, as well as boosting your metabolism and weight loss, my advice is to at least add these four foods to your daily diet. Get those twinkles into your eyes, wear those tight leggings, be full of energy and feel sexier in no time ;-)
